31 Mar Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon
Ingredients
Salmon:
- 2 fillets Salmon (I like to use skin on)
- 2-3 grinds of Himalayan Salt (pink)
- 5-6 grinds of Black Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
Sauce
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Olive Oil
- 3 Cloves of Garlic (minced)
- 1/4 Cup Honey
- 1 Tbsp Water
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Soya Sauce (I prefer the low sodium)
- 1/2 Tbsp Sriracha Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pat the salmon dry with a paper towel.
- Season the Salmon with salt, pepper & paprika. (I like to use a silicon brush to spread it around and brush it in).
- Adjust the oven rack to the middle position. Broiling with the rack high will burn the sauce.
- Preheat the broiler @ 400°
- Add the butter to a cast iron skillet (any oven proof skillet) on medium / high t0 melt.
- Add the garlic, water, soy sauce, sriracha, honey and lemon juice and cook for 1 minute to heat through.
- Add the salmon, skin side down and cook for 5 minutes, basting frequently (once a minute) during this time.
- Move the skillet to the middle rack of the oven and broil for 6-8 minutes to carmalize the salmon and cooked to desired doneness.
- Plate and spoon some of the sauce over the salmon.
- Serve with your choice of potatoes, roasted vegetables (like asparagus, broccoli, peppers etc.)
