Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon

Prep Time: 10 minutes.   Cook time 15 minutes.

Servings: 4

A Word From The Cook

Sticky, garlicky and sweet.   A perfect combination.   Also simple.   Comes together in 20 minutes!

Ingredients

Salmon:

  • 2 fillets Salmon (I like to use skin on)
  • 2-3 grinds of Himalayan Salt (pink)
  • 5-6 grinds of Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika

Sauce

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Olive Oil
  • 3 Cloves of Garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 Cup Honey
  • 1 Tbsp Water
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp Soya Sauce (I prefer the low sodium)
  • 1/2 Tbsp Sriracha Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon dry with a paper towel.
  2. Season the Salmon with salt, pepper & paprika. (I like to use a silicon brush to spread it around and brush it in).
  3. Adjust the oven rack to the middle position.  Broiling with the rack high will burn the sauce.
  4. Preheat the broiler @ 400°
  5. Add the butter to a cast iron skillet (any oven proof skillet) on medium / high t0 melt.
  6. Add the garlic, water, soy sauce, sriracha, honey and lemon juice and cook for 1 minute to heat through.
  7. Add the salmon, skin side down and cook for 5 minutes, basting frequently (once a minute) during this time.
  8. Move the skillet to the middle rack of the oven and broil for 6-8 minutes to carmalize the salmon and cooked to desired doneness.
  9. Plate and spoon some of the sauce over the salmon.
  10. Serve with your choice of potatoes, roasted vegetables (like asparagus, broccoli, peppers etc.)
