27 Jul Cedar Plank BBQ Salmon
Ingredients
- 1 2lb piece of salmon
- 1 cedar plank
- 2 tbsp grainy mustard
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary (or 1/2 tbsp dried)
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp liquid smoke
Instructions
- combine mustard, ketchup, oil, rosemary, chili powder, pepper and liquid smoke and mix well
- spread over salmon; generously and marinate ideally 2 hours (at least 30 minutes)
- pre soak the cedar plank for at least 2 hours; place the soaked cedar plank on the BBQ and leave for 3-4 minutes until you can smell the cedar (or see smoke!)
- turn the plank and place the salmon on the plank, skin side down if you are cooking it with skin on
- close the BBQ and cook on medium heat for 20 minutes (white juices of salmon will be visible)
- remove from plank by leaving the skin behind on the plank
