A Little Bit of Travel – Thai Food

I thought it would be prudent to do a little travelling with this blog given that we can’t safely travel physically right now.

One of my favourite cooking themes is Thai.   The flavours are amazing, except for a bit of ‘chopping’ the meals come together fairly quickly and they are always so colourful.     I did travel to Thailand in 2000, a trip that I went on with my MBA class from IVEY through South East Asia.    While it was the wrap up of the MBA and obviously had a business slant to the trip, we didn’t miss a meal and enjoyed every one we had.

A lot of people are reluctant to cook Thai because of the unique sauces, spices and blends.   The first rule is find yourself a good Thai Food Store,  browse around and ask questions.    We have one not far from our house and it’s worth the drive.

Here are a few of my Thai / SE Asian Recipes:

Shrimp Panang

Cedar Plank Thai Salmon

And then this is one of our favourites Thai Basil Chicken Stir Fry

I hope you enjoy this little travel to Thailand and SE Asia, let me know what you think and what are your favourite meals while travelling?
