Just Like Eastside Mario’s Salad Dressing

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: (fridge time) 4 hours

Serving: 1 salad

A Word From The Cook

You won’t tell the difference, and don’t forget the Pecorino Peppers, Black Olives, Purple Onions and Tomatoes!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1/4 Cup Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 Cup Vinegar (white)
  • 1 Tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/4 Tsp Dry Mustard Powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Paprika (I prefer the smoke paprika)
  • 1/4 Tsp Oregano (dried) or 1 Tsp fresh
  • 1/4 Tsp Thyme (dried) or 1 Tsp fresh

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a salad dressing shaker or bottle (with lid) and mix well until all blended
  2. Refrigerate for 4 hours prior to using to allow the flavours to blend together.
  3. Serve over prepared lettuce (I like the Iceberg for this one).

I don’t want to be a hater, but this just tasted like an oily mess.

Sorry you had this experience. This is the recipe for the dressing. There would be enough here for about 3 salads. It does keep for about 10 days refrigerated ..

Hi Martin, I’ve always used Unico brand Peperoncini Peppers. I’ll post a picture on the recipe post of the bottle / brand.

This week we went to East Side Mario’s on Upper James, Hamilton. Ontario.
We have always loved the salad at this chain of restaurants but the salad we had was a great disappointment. The dressing tasted dramatically different and more like over the counter bottled dressing. We will not give it a good rating at all and will probably not go there again.

This is the absolute best salad dressing! I double the recipe and it’s enough for 10 days. I use this everyday at lunch on my salad.
Thank you so much for posting this!

Big lover of the Eastside Mario Salad and dressing. Today I decided I’m going to give it a whirl, this recipe is rated a ★★★★★. Nailed it! Loved it. Can’t wait to have it tomorrow too. I will make this again and again but will put it on other salads as well, Oh by the way I did not put the sugar in, doesn’t need it! Muah!
