Turnip ‘Puff’

A great addition to any holiday meal, but don’t wait for an occasion to enjoy this.


  • 1 Turnip (cut into small dices for faster
  • cooking)
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • 3 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1/3 Cup 35% Cream
  • 1/4. Tsp Nutmeg


  1. Slice the turnip into 1 inch rounds and then into smaller dices.
  2. Boil with 1/4 tsp salt until tender enough to mash – mash well.
  3. Add the brown sugar and cream.
  4. Using a blender stick, purée the turnip until a smooth whipped texture is ‘fluffy’.
  5. Stir in the nutmeg, and place in a baking dish.
  6. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes.
